To me this simply indicates a lack of understanding by the advertisers for the changing landscape in marketing. It's boring, old world interuption marketing. In this day and age, such crass marketing devalues the item on sale. Good luck to the citizens taking the cash for their space.

I also liked the "Jackson Pollock" site, but I thought it produced an image that's not all that much like a real Pollock artwork. In fact, I think the idea behind that Web artwork is essentially the opposite of Pollock's method of experimenting his way to a finished work of art. If you care, there's more on this at my blog, specifically at http://artsofinnovation.wordpress.com/2006/12/05/conceptual-site-has-jackson-pollocks-name-not-his-style/.

We hope to see you all at the 2nd Annual Million Star Hotel AIDS Care Service Benefit
DEC. 22 at the Garage in Winston-Salem
“million star hotel” is slang for being homeless, for not having a roof over one’s head. Also the name of the new Jeffrey Dean Foster solo CD.

Friday December 22nd The Garage 9:00 pm
the 2nd Annual Million Star Hotel AIDS Care Service Benefit.
Featuring Jeffrey Dean Foster and the Birds of Prey
With very special guest Lynn Blakey (of Tres Chicas)

Last year the first Million Star Hotel benefit was held and it was a rousing success. Folks from all walks of life were brought together for a night of good music and were united by a great cause. Awareness was raised about people living and struggling with HIV/AIDS in our area. Money was raised and goods were collected for the clients of AIDS Care Service who occasionally have to check into our local “million star hotel”. A good time was had by all.

This year Jeffrey Dean Foster and the Birds of Prey are joined by close friend Lynn Blakey of Tres Chicas. http://www.treschicas.org/band.html Lynn will perform a rare solo set and with the Birds of Prey.
Lynn has sung with Jeffrey all over the country and on both “Million Star Hotel” and The Pinetops “Above Ground and Vertical”. She has established herself as a terrific songwriter and performer with her band Glory Fountain and with Tres Chicas, who have been widely praised for harmonies that are "perfect" (by Paste and No Depression ), "gorgeous" ( Amazon.com ), and "rousing" ( The Village Voice ), along with what No Depression calls their "truest strength," the threesome's remarkable songwriting talents.

Come early (9pm) and settle in for a cozy night of the rock and roll and some Christmas nuggets. Tell your friends, neighbors and even the uncle who’s had too much to drink.
Feel free to forward this bulletin throughout “the internets”, as our president calls it.

All proceeds from the show will benefit Aids Care Service here in Winston-Salem.
Admission is $10.00 and additional donations of Usable Phone Cards, Warm Winter hats, Gloves, Scarves, or blankets will also be appreciated.

The mission of AIDS Care Service is to empower and serve our brothers and sisters living with HIV/AIDS and to educate our community in the struggle against the disease. For more than twelve years, they have provided services to our neighbors in Forsyth and surrounding counties through their programs.

I listed to The World's story and it makes sense that the average time someone spent with this avatar is 16 minutes. Some are curious and trying to trip it out, but given (as they cite) that it's four times the average convo with a live recruiter, this looks like a smart try.

BBC World and NCR just broadcast a spot on SGT STAR that discusses why the Army turned to this technology and the impact he has had on the recruiting effort. The interviewers even include the SGT in the live broadcast with a little Q&A. Select the speaker icon on the following link to listen: http://www.theworld.org/?q=node/4588

I'm glad you highlighted not just the festival, but this film in particular. Jason Pierce and his group of merry makers obviously worked hard, but their imaginations and POV's may be the real source of the talent on view here.

Hey Joe. This is great support for the game and the program! It's amazing what they have done at UNC-Greensboro for interactive learning! I took the forensics online "sample," it was really startling how much you can learn from online interaction. I was pleasantly surprised! Thanks for having this posted on your site, it allowed me to read some articles I had not seen (like the Yahoo link).
